The wide wings, multiple finger grips and accurately machined 90 Deg angle between the sole and the sides make this plane ideal for shooting.
The 12 Deg bed angle of the plane and the 25 Deg bevel angle of the blade combine to result in an effective cutting angle of 37 Deg.
The plane is 6-3/8" long and 2" wide.
Body is made of ductile cast iron. Blade is 1-5/8" wide, 1/8" thick, made of either A2 or O1 tool steel. It is lapped on the non-bevel side to a flatness tolerance of 0.0002" or better over the working surface, and with an average roughness surface finish of 5 microinches (0.000005") or better.
Can be used with optional ball tail and front knob to convert the plane to a low-angle smoothing plane, albeit smaller.

Quality Value Price A real step up from the 'norm'. Lots of adjustment and a real feeling of quality engineering. The quality and quantity of the steel in the blade was immediately apparent. The real question of value for money ? Well, for me its all horses for courses. A great product for the joiner but not really for the site man. (Posted on 11/08/2011)
