Veritas Dowelling Jig. Will do centered dowelling and will also dowel boards of different thicknesses to one reference face - the assembly is perfectly flat on one side with all thickness variations on the other (saves time planning and scraping.)

Details

Using a dial, each micrometer clamp head can be set from 1/4" (6mm) to 1/2" (13mm) from the center line for work 1/2" to 1" thick. Setting is positive and accurate to a few thousands of an inch.
Movable clamp heads will grip work as small as 1/2" x 1-3/8".
Set jig for centered dowelling with boards of constant thickness. With boards of uneven thickness heads are set for a constant set back from the reference face.
Chain drill dowel holes using the tapered pin to register off the last hole drilled.
Movable bushing carrier includes 3 hardened steel bushings: 1/4", 8mm (5/16"), and 3/8". All aluminum parts anodized black, except the red bushing carrier. Register pins, and clamping fittings are turned brass.
