Quality Value Price This is a very heavy bench - ordinarily there is no way 1 person could put this up - and even 2 people would struggle lifting the top - which is doubly heavy because it comes with 2 heavy vices pre-fixed. However with a lift platform, a bit of science and a few levers, this 1 person did put it up alone - so it is possible (without injury!). It's very solid with almost no movement along its length, tiny movement front to back - but at an entirely acceptable level. The vices are excellent - very chunky and solid - there's a limit to the number of positions these can be readily fitted to the bench and in my case, the end one has been removed and is spare, although I have fitted my trusty Record bench vice to augment the Sjoberg one. It's easy to fit shelves and the added weight also anchors the bench. It isn't a cheap bench and I was worried about spending this amount of money as a keen amateur. However I'm glad I did spoil myself as I'm delighted with the bench - its quality and solidness - and am very happy with it. I think it'll spur me on to produce better quality work in the future. I'm happy with my purchase and the good service delivering it in 10 days or so ...hence 5 marks. (Posted on 11/08/2011)
