Have not used the grinder much so far. It has done everything asked of it up to now. However I have noticed that the casing which houses the motor does get rather hot. Not sure if this will effect the motor in time ! Also the tool rests are VERY flimsy and more of a safety hazard than of any use. The unit has 4 rubber feet which do a good job of reducing vibration. The two holes for bolting the unit in place are poorly situated as the axle casing would prevent long bolts from being put in from the top, however nothing would stop you from putting them in from underneath your bench and just using the nut and washer on the top! depends on your bench and what access you have! I noticed that the fine grinding stone looked to have a slight oscillation in it but its hardly noticeable and seems to grind smoothly. Might be an illusion of some sort. The face plates Hinge Mechanism is also poorly made and will probably become that slack in time that they will require to be removed or altered in some way to prevent them from falling into the grinding stone. For now I have them set and have no need to move them.
A reasonable grinder for the price i suppose. Its more of a 3.5 than a 3 but not worth a 4 out of 5 in my opinion. But im from a Heavy enginerring background and Know what a QUALIT grinder is ! but they would set u back much more cash . For the price this grinder does the job and has reasonable build quality. IF the Motor and Grinding Wheels stand the test of time !!!!!!!!!!! (Posted on 11/08/2011)
