The Scheppach dms 900 woodturning lathe is designed for people who want a machine with an excellent specification but at a competitive price. This woodturning lathe ticks the box. Built from a solid cast iron construction this unit is built to last.
Details
Both the headÂstock, tailstock and lathe bed are made from solid cast iron which allows this machine to run true and with minimum levels of vibration. The pivoting headstock turns 180 Deg and locks to facilitate outboard turning. The spindle can rotate either clockwise or anti clockwise which facilitates outboard turning. This machine is powered by a very quiet running, high torque induction motor and there are 10 speeds ranging from 500 rpm 2,100 rpm and is therefore ideal for small diaÂmeter spindle work through to large bowl turnÂing.
Spindle speeds are 500rpm, 600rpm,750rpm, 900rpm, 1000rpm,1200rpm, 1,400rpm, 2,600rpm, 1,800rpm, 2,100rpm.
Distance between centres is 825mm and the bed height is 890mm. Turning diameter is overbed 304mm. Tool rest length 300mm. Face plate is 150mm. Weight approx. 80kg.
