Owatrol Oil 500ml The Painter's Best Friend

I used this product to condition International 10 Year Enamel, and to convert rust on a steel boat. The rust conversion appears to have worked well. The paint was applied with a small amount of Owatrol oil added, and using a foam roller, immediately laid off with a good quality paint brush. Owatrol does exactly what the makers claim; gives a longer working time, and brush marks are almost invisible, since the paint spreads out much more than in its raw state.I felt that Owatrol was expensive, but it goes a very long way, leaving me enough for next time I paint the boat, and plenty for touching up rust blemishes.
This is the first time that I have used it. I am very impressed with Owatrol oil and would not attempt to paint a boat without it in future.

Having used this product before with such success we are now about to buy some more without hesitation. It really does do what it says on the tin! Put a little at a time on to build up a skin. A little goes a long way (Posted on 11/08/2011)

absolutly amazing ive used it on the exterior wood on my brothers house ,used neat as primer then used it in with dulux 8 year exterior paint at approx 25% per lr, that was 8 years ago it is still going strong with no signs of deteriation, use it to revive old paint that has skined , remove skin apply owatrol till paint flows as you want it so saving money and protecting the enviroment by reducing the amoont of paint thrown out because its unusable . about to treat my house where the wood is 100 years old and badly weatherd in places realy is 5*great value (Posted on 11/08/2011)

Great stuff. Added it to white undercoat and eggshell to help cover some very dark varnished/stained doors that were covered in something that doesn't sand (smears into goo) and seems to react to paint. My previous attempts to paint over the doors resulted in lots of crackled paint effect. After my 4th crackled coat and lots of frustration I decided to look for something to help - found this and have now managed to cover them without any crackling. Fantastic. One can is enough for 4 tins of paint and just makes the paint a little bit runnier and more workable. Having no brush strokes is also a nice bonus! I would recommend trying it to anyone. I used this as a pint conditioner for undercoat and eggshell to help cover some doors that had been painted with a really dark varnish/stain that seemed to be resistant to paint! Before trying this, I had already painted several coats on and they had all crackled, so I started looking for a solution online and found this stuff recommended. It works, one tin was more than enough to use in 2 cans of undercoat and 2 of eggshell. It makes the paint a bit runnier and smoother and it stays wet longer so you have more than the usual amount of time to find and remove any drip marks. There are no brush strokes either, which is a nice bonus. I would definitely recommend this stuff to anyone. (Posted on 11/08/2011)
