The essential feature of all Maun diagonal cutting nippers is the accuracy of the cutting edges and the quality of the steel and heat treatment.
The compound lever design gives good mechanical advantage, allowing the plier to cut piano wire with handle loads significantly less than conventional forged pliers of equivalent size.
