Glen GDF20 2KW Wall Mounted Bathroom Fan Heater

A compact efficient heater that warms our small wet room very quickly even on the lower 1kw setting. Installation was quick and easy and it is ideal for just taking the chill off the room on cooler days when small children are using it, instead of turning on the main central heating system.
On the premise that you get what you pay for, I would rate this product excellent value for money and say it lives up to the reputation of its manufacturer.

One small criticism is that the pull type on/off switch has a flimsy feel to it that belies its otherwise robust construction. I would have expected a more reassuring "clunk" when operating it considering the current being switched. However, this is a minor detail on an otherwise first class product. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

Reasonably priced, it is installed in the bathroom and heats the room well and quickly.
It was quite easy to install, mounting on the wall.

Great value compared with other makes.
Works very well, gives out plenty of heat and is ideal for the small bathroom that it is fitted in.
The rotary pull switch on the old one kept breaking (not a Glen). This fan is performing very well so far after two weeks of use and appears to be a better design in the switch department as it is a simple on/off. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

Does the job quite nicely but I've set it at only 1 kw instead of the factory-set 2 kw. I chose the lower setting to avoid overheating which has been a problem in SOME heaters of this type (not specifically the Glen GDF20). The 1 kw setting is adequate for my 8ft x 8ft bathroom and is thus OK. My main comment is that the heater might be better if it was angled outwards a bit more rather than being almost straight down. This is a replacement for a previous one of different make. This is noticeably quicker to warm up, and comes on with the slightest pull on the cord. If I pulled as hard on this as the last one I would break the cord! Not needing the same pull, means the new is better than the old. It is that much more quiet in being turned on and off, and silent enough to be bearly audible outside the bathroom door. Robust Quality, pleasing, and well designed. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

Purchased this heater to replace same model used for two years. Replacement only becausesmall piece of plastic on the switch broke off. Fitting easy because screw holes in same place

Have used this heater before,several times over the years.Its brilliant,does the job and is very good value for money,dont bother trying any others,you wont find one as good.I bought a different make when i was told that these were out of production,obviously wrong information,it was a load of rubbish and i returned it then found the glen was still being produced so have bought two. This the second Glen GDF20 we have used. It is perfect for the bathroom, stylish and we only use it on the lowest setting, very warm stops the bathroom mirrors from steaming up. Highly recommend diy tools for a very quick service and a reasonable price. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

This heater performs very well in our small bathroom; installation was easy and it is good value for money. One minor point - do not be tempted to replace the small plastic knob on the pull cord with a heavier one as this was almost certainly the cause of switch failure on our first one.
