These work very well for undoing circular items e...Review by James
Quality Value Price These work very well for undoing circular items especially if they have a chrome or other finish that could be scratched or marked. The strap goes round the item to be undone so that the plastic head presses onto the strap, in the direction of motion required (lefty loosey, righty tighty), to hold the strap tight. The handle provides good leverage though it might require more cleraance than availablel in confined spaces, eg undoing plastic waste trap nuts under basins. It's a bit of a knack at first to get and keep the strap tight but once mastered the wrench works very well. If it's a really difficult object to shift it isn't going to do the job of a mole wrench in terms of grip but then that will completely destroy any delicate surface and the strap wrenches won't leave a mark. A bit expensive for what they are, and a not a universal solution, but but they are good quality and should last a long time and are a valuable addition to the tool kit. They work on tight jam pot lids etc, though not as well as the ones that have teeth to grip the lids, which would be a better for someone with a disability. Haven't tried on oil filters but they should be ok if there's no oil to make the rubber strap slip. (Posted on 11/08/2011)
