This is my second purchase as the first one came ...Review by stoobietoo
Quality Value Price This is my second purchase as the first one came apart. (Entirely my fault, not the product). It has a small locking washer on the rear attaching the swinging escutcheon cover to the main body. When I attached the first one, I did not drill a sufficient space behind the fitting and when I screwed the escutcheon to the door it pushed the cover away from the escutcheon and dislodged the locking washer and it dropped through the door. I left it as it was and the escutcheon worked for a good 3 years but when I came to re-varnish the door, I took the fitting off then misplaced the loose escutcheon cover. If I had not lost the cover I would have just re attached it and carried on using it and have no doubt I would have got many more years of use from it.
I had no hesitation ordering a replacement. It is a solid, well crafted item and the chrome plating on it is excellent, very heavy and mirror polished. I attached it correctly this time and am confident I will have many years on use out of it. It is a little pricey compared to others I have seen, but none of those are as solid or as heavy and you definitely get what you pay for. I give it 10/10 for quality and 8/10 for value for money.
