Britannia Solid Wheel Galvanised Wheelbarrow

Arrived flat pack, easy to construct, requires screwdriver and spanner but not supplied. Material suitable for purpose as a lightweight garden wheelbarrow. Value for money. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

Was fairly easy to put together, more my lack of handy man skills lol! Very sturdy, easy to manoeuvre, holds quite a quantity of grass, cuttings etc. Still looks like brand new and I have given her a bashing (sorry my wheelbarrow is a girl). When assembled looks ~ and sounds ~ frail and flimsy. But this is deceptive ~ it's a good tool for a some-time gardener like me. I wasn't going to spend a fortune on something I used only once a week but this little barrow is just the job and does all I want it to. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

When I saw it I thought it was going to be too lightweight. But after assembly (which was easy) It was fine. NOTE: Make sure the nuts and bolts on the handle are completly tightned. Any movement could cause the barrow top to shift from the handles and if you are carrying a somewhat heavy load the handles could be damaged. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

The wheelbarrow is fairly lightweight as required, however it does have a tendancy to tip to the side if the weight is even slightly unevenly distributed. Arrived flat pack and was easy to assemble. Value for money. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

Bought this as a cheap one job barrow and not as something to keep so wasn't expecting much - having now dug and laid a patio and shifted approx 22 tonnes with it I have really abused it - its now dented, warped and buckled with the loads carried. It survived, still works fine and will not be throwing it away yet - other comments about stability are valid - you need to load it right. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

The main reason I chose this model is becaiuse it is the narrowest I could find (so I can more easily get it through my greenhouse door). Both the previous two wheelbarrows I have bought have been the same. The reason I like it is that it is very light, can be lifted up when empty and I , also, like the angular shape which makes it easier for shovelling material out and mixing cement. It is not as robust as some models and does tend to suffer if heavily loaded but not too expensive to replace. The design has improved over the years. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

I bought this product to use whilst removing a lot of earth and rubble form my garden. However when i constructed it i found it to be quite flimsy and not very strong. The aluminium it is made from is quite thin and the whole thing is only suitable for light loads. I bought it on price alone so it is my fault for being such a skinflint but if i were to buy another wheelbarrow in the future i would pay a little more and get something that is stronger and more up to the job. it is really not suitable for heavy loads and bends and dents very easily. This wheelbarrow was exactly that which I was looking for to replace one purchased perhaps twenty years ago. I wanted a garden wheelbarrow with solid tyre, (sooner or later pneumatic tyres go flat). I wanted a wheelbarrow suitable for my (large) garden, but not a building site. This wheelbarrow is exactly what I need and at the price is exceptional. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

Although I am nudging 75, I found it relatively simple to assemble - although I had to partly take it apart when I realised there was a right and wrong way for the pieces that restrain the wheel (there were no instructions in the pack I received).It is not robust (i.e. not a "heavy duty" barrow), but is perfectly adequate for what I needed it for - light work in the garden. However, I find I have to re-tighten nuts at regular intervals, and it can be a but unstable, and topple sideways. I still consider it value for money. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

Does the job - it's a horrible noisy little thing when not on grass and empty.Pay attention to size before buying - this is small - but OK if that's what you need.
I choose it for the hard wheel.

Good value for money and exactly what I wanted although the body may be a tad wide. I chose the product with the solid tyre to obviate problems with pneumatic I have had in the past. If the galvanising lasts as I think that it will I will be buying no more barrows! (Posted on 11/08/2011)

Very difficult to put together. The holes didn't line up and to make them do so I had to distort the main body of the wheelbarrow to some extent. Seems OK now I've got it together. Quite good value for money though and seems robust enough for my purposes. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

Very lightweight product but adequate for the job (just). I don't expect it to last very long. As an example, when transporting a 25kg bag of cement from the car to the back garden in the barrow I had to bump down a gently sloping stepped path formed by concrete slabs. These 2 inch steps proved too much for the plastic wheel as the rim split and a large chunk broke off. Any more damage like this and the tyre will come off completely - Perhaps just as well I retained the wheel from my previous barrow. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

The wheelbarrow that we have bought seems satisfactory for light work. However, we found it essential to fit a second nut on all the bolts, since one nut, as supplied, is not enough to stop them falling apart within a week or two. (Posted on 11/08/2011)

Cheap and cheerful really, the frame is a bit wobbly, the wheel not quite parallel to the body and the body is pretty thin. Overall, perfectly OK for general light use about the garden, but not for any heavier work. (Posted on 11/08/2011)
